  5. organization that holds the copyright on Python versions 2.1 and
  6. newer.  The PSF's mission is to advance open source technology related
  7. to the Python programming language and to publicize the use of Python.
  8. The PSF's home page is at https://www.python.org/psf/.

  10. Donations to the PSF are tax-exempt in the US.  If you use Python and
  11. find it helpful, please contribute via the PSF donation page.

  16. You can do anything you want with the source, as long as you leave the
  17. copyrights in and display those copyrights in any documentation about
  18. Python that you produce.  If you honor the copyright rules, it's OK to
  19. use Python for commercial use, to sell copies of Python in source or
  20. binary form (modified or unmodified), or to sell products that
  21. incorporate Python in some form.  We would still like to know about
  22. all commercial use of Python, of course.

Python software and documentation are licensed under the PSF License Agreement.
Starting with Python 3.8.6, examples, recipes, and other code in the documentation are dual licensed under the PSF License Agreement and the Zero-Clause BSD license.
Some software incorporated into Python is under different licenses. The licenses are listed with code falling under that license. See Licenses and Acknowledgements for Incorporated Software for an incomplete list of these licenses.
